3. Pageflake Events delighted me by searching a good 50 or so miles around my village (how do you do that? I can’t do it in Yahoo Upcoming) and flashed up (on the first go) the Bucks07 Media Camp hosted by the inimitable Chris Hamby. This was one of the most lively friendliest meetings I have ever attended with loads of interesting people.
This was really a Web 2.0 Cubed event. It was advertised through Yahoo Upcoming and picked up by the PageFlake. It was managed with a wiki and open space rules. And almost everyone there was in to Web2.0.
I was a little lazy and didn’t follow up everyone. But I did follow up www.cinekitty.com, a platform for matching filmmakers and financiers. And the founder kindly introduced me to the most marvellous cafe in Covent Garden in London. Aspirational!
What did we do differently?
The format encourages approachability, so you meet more people, more quickly. Not speed dating exactly. More a willingness to be open. More bang for you buck (no pun intended).
